General description of role:
We are seeking for a highly experienced IT Data Analyst to join our team, bringing expertise in data analysis with proven track of record working on large data related projects. Successful candidate will collaborate with project lead, business stakeholders and multi-functional team of data analysts & data engineers responsible for delivering Data Migration initiatives leveraging a modern lakehouse architecture for our new Commercial Risk Solutions Ecosystem.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead data analysis, collaborate with cross-functional team, business stakeholders and SME's to understand data delivery requirements and business context of the data
- Actively assist team with data analysis activities at each stage of data delivery process.
- Analyze source systems and underlying database, develop source to target data mappings
- Develop and document data extraction and transformation scripts/queries to support ETL processes to migrate data between systems
- Support development of data quality testing framework by defining data quality rules, perform source to target data reconciliation to validate accuracy & integrity of migrated data
- Coordinate with Project and Delivery Lead to address technical challenges, solve issues to ensure seamless execution of the roadmap
- Contribute to development of the data analyst playbook, embedding best practices and standards
- Participate in agile ceremonies, providing regular updates on technical progress and addressing potential risks
- Perform data validation and comparison to ensure the accuracy of migrated data.
- Develop and implement advanced reporting solutions utilizing Power BI to deliver insightful data visualizations and support strategic decision-making.
Skills/competencies required:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or similar role in data related projects, working in insurance/finance industry in large multinational environment would be an asset
- In-depth knowledge of data migration concepts, ETL processes and database management systems
- Proficiency in SQL(advanced joins, aggregations, functions, query optimization), Python and PySpark for complex data extraction and transformation
- Experience with data visualization tools (eg. Power BI) incl. strong skills in DAX, Power Query and effective visualization techniques
- Hands on experience with agile practices and agile project management tools (eg. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps Boards)
- Engage cross-functionally with ETL, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure insight driven solution delivery.
- Knowledge on data management principles, data profiling and quality management, compliance standards
- Deep understanding of the commercial environment related to the data, detail oriented, excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
- Fluency in English (written & spoken) is required
- Understanding of insurance context would be an asset.
