IT Auditor Job Specification
The IT Auditor evaluates the effectiveness ofIT governance, risk management, security, and internal controlsto ensure that information systems are secure, reliable, and compliant with organizational policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Performrisk-based IT auditsof systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- AssessIT General Controls (ITGC)such as access management, change management, backups, and operations.
- Reviewcybersecurity and data protection controls.
- Ensure compliance with standards such asISO 27001, COBIT, ITIL, NIST, and GDPR.
- Identify control weaknesses and provide recommendations.
- Prepare audit reports and present findings to management.
- Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree inInformation Systems, Computer Science, IT, or Accounting with IT specialization.
- Relevant experience inIT audit, IT risk, or information security(typically 35 years).
Professional Accreditations (any of the below)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
