Job Title
IT Asset Manager
Job Description
So, who are we
Hello, we're IG Group - FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses. The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your team
The Service Management & Operations function operates across four dedicated pillars. The IT Asset Manager leads the ITAM pillar, working alongside peer managers who hold independent accountability for their own domains ITOM, ITSM and Global Service desk.
Your role in the Team's Success
This is a hands-on, process-ownership role. The IT Asset Manager will work closely with Core Infrastructure, Finance, Security, Desktop Services, and key software vendors to establish ITAM as a functioning and trusted discipline across the organisation.
What You'll Do
IG has already made significant investment in the ServiceNow ITAM platform. The IT Asset Manager inherits a partially implemented environment and will be responsible for maturing it to full operational effectiveness.
- Software discovery: Deployed software is not being systematically collected or matched against purchased licences. Enabling software discovery for SAM is a priority workstream.
- Vendor onboarding: A significant number of high-spend vendors are yet to be onboarded into ServiceNow SAM. The IT Asset Manager will own and drive a structured onboarding programme.
- Licence compliance: Reliable licence positions, reconciliation, and reclamation need to be established across all material vendors — not just Salesforce.
- Software lifecycle process: A standardised process for software requests, approvals, and retirement needs to be defined and enforced consistently across teams.
- Operating model and governance: A Target Operating Model for the ITAM function, including RACI, governance cycle, and reporting, is to be designed and implemented.
Key Qualification Requirements
What you'll need for this role
- Demonstrable 12+ experience in IT Asset Management, covering both Hardware and Software Asset Management.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITAM, SAM, or HAM modules — able to work directly in the platform, not just manage others doing so.
- Understanding of software licence models and vendor compliance management — including reconciliation and true-up processes.
- Experience owning and improving ITAM processes in a regulated environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — able to engage and influence teams who may resist centralised asset governance.
- Comfortable producing clear process documentation, reporting, and governance artefacts
