Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and provide specific, end-to-end Information Systems (IS) solutions/services within the defined scope. Each day, you will execute the IS solution/service delivery utilizing the internal IS delivery units, IS Operations team members, and external third-party IS service suppliers in a core and flex model, as advised. You will also showcase your expertise by providing consultation, input, and resolution for any incident, change, or project which has/might have a major impact on the relevant IS solutions/services.

This role contributes to the Information Systems (IS) organization within ABB in India. Key stakeholders include business process owners, IS service owners, IS lead architects, delivery units, project managers, cybersecurity teams, and external vendors.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all core IS infrastructure services across the IN cluster (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka), managing customer engagement, demand intake, qualification, and prioritization.
  • Own infrastructure demand management, including effort, timeline, and cost estimation for projects, new solutions, deployments, and handover to operations in collaboration with relevant IS domains.
  • Initiate, govern, and monitor local IT domain projects (connectivity, hosting, and cloud services), ensuring end‑to‑end delivery, quality, and timely execution.
  • Serve as SPOC for end‑to‑end infrastructure services-network connectivity, cloud, and hosting-ensuring demand vs. actuals governance, cost efficiency, and supplier performance management.
  • Maintain transparent tracking and reporting of network assets, devices, ILL services, and utilization, providing accurate service and consumption reports to country and business IS leadership.
  • Govern infrastructure supplier teams and onsite SMEs to ensure service availability, business continuity (BCP), dispute resolution, validation of consumption reports, and realization of cost savings.
  • Partner with group‑level IS and business leadership to manage trade‑offs across cost, time, and demand support audits, M&A initiatives, major security or compliance incidents and drive continuous service improvement through strong technical leadership.


Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Strong experience in IS business performance management and requirements management, with ITIL 4 Foundation certification mandatory.
  • Solid expertise across IS development and operations, with a strong understanding of end‑to‑end business processes and enterprise IS landscapes certifications such as Advanced ITIL, COBIT, Six Sigma, or TOGAF are highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing local IS teams, driving accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in governing IS suppliers and strategic partners, including effective issue resolution across teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills to translate complex business requirements into sustainable, scalable technical IS solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
