Position Overview
The Investment Banking Trainee will be a part of the Debt Syndication team and will support the execution of debt financing transactions across various sectors. The role provides hands-on exposure to investment banking, credit analysis, financial modeling, structured finance, lender management, and transaction execution.
This position is ideal for candidates seeking to build a strong foundation in corporate finance and investment banking through active participation in live transactions and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Transaction Execution & Deal Support
- Assist in the execution of debt syndication mandates including:
- Term Loans
- Working Capital Facilities
- Project Finance
- Structured Finance Transactions
- Refinancing Assignments
- Support the preparation of Information Memorandums (IMs), lender presentations, financial proposals, and transaction documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely execution of transaction deliverables.
- Monitor transaction timelines and support deal closure activities.
- Financial Analysis & Credit Evaluation
- Analyze financial statements, including:
- Balance Sheets
- Profit & Loss Statements
- Cash Flow Statements
- Evaluate creditworthiness, debt servicing capability, leverage position, and financial risks of client companies.
- Prepare:
- Financial Models
- Ratio Analysis
- Credit Notes
- Cash Flow Assessments
- Support lender-specific credit evaluation requirements.
- Debt Structuring & Market Research
- Assist in structuring suitable debt solutions based on client requirements and market conditions.
- Conduct research on:
- Industry trends
- Debt market developments
- Interest rate movements
- Banking and NBFC financing products
- Support analysis of financing alternatives such as:
- Structured Debt
- Project Finance
- Working Capital Solutions
- Refinancing Opportunities
- Lender Relationship Management
- Coordinate with Banks, NBFCs, Financial Institutions, and Alternative Lenders.
- Assist in lender discussions, due diligence processes, and documentation requirements.
- Track lender feedback and manage follow-ups related to:
- Term Sheets
- Sanction Letters
- Loan Agreements
- Compliance Requirements
- Maintain records of lender interactions and transaction updates.
- MIS, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain transaction databases and deal trackers.
- Monitor live mandates, pipeline opportunities, and execution status.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management review.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management for all assigned transactions.
- Support internal reporting and performance tracking initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications
- MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution
- CA Inter qualified candidates preferred
- CFA Level I candidates will have an added advantage
Experience- 0–2 years of relevant experience in:
