Role Overview
The Inventory & Procurement Executive will be responsible for managing stock levels, ensuring
timely procurement of materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting smooth
production operations. This role is crucial in ensuring material availability, optimising cost, and
maintaining the supply chain workflow for drone manufacturing and related components.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for components, raw materials, and consumables.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
- Source new vendors for critical drone components (motors, ESCs, batteries, sensors, electronics, carbon frames, etc.).
- Track order status, delivery schedules, and resolve procurement delays.
- Maintain cost sheets, quotations, and vendor comparisons.
- Coordinate with finance for advance payments and invoice clearance.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with production and project requirements.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels for all raw materials, electronic parts, mechanical parts, tools and consumables.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock audits.
- Update GRN, stock-in, stock-out, and movement registers.
- Ensure accurate documentation of incoming/outgoing materials.
- Implement FIFO and proper storage methods.
- Handle segregated inventory for R&D, production, and demo units.
- Manage storage and safe handling of Li-ion batteries and electronic components.
3. Warehouse & Material Handling
- Organize and maintain inventory room, racks, bins, and shelves.
- Ensure proper labelling and categorization of components.
- Coordinate with logistics for inbound–outbound material.
- Manage packing material and ensure availability for dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with safety and ESD handling practices.
4. Coordination & Support
- Work closely with production, R&D, QC, and finance teams.
- Support the assembly team by providing required material on time.
- Raise alerts for low stock, critical items, and procurement blockers.
- Assist in BOM verification and consumption tracking.
5. Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly stock reports.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor files, and pricing history.
- Report inventory discrepancies and ageing stock.
- Share material availability updates with management.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes.
- Understanding of inventory control and warehouse management.
- Hands-on experience with electronic/mechanical components (preferred for drone industry).
- Basic understanding of BOM, GRN, stock-in/out.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- MS Excel proficiency.
- Knowledge of ERP/inventory tools (preferred).
- Time management and multitasking ability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in inventory or procurement (hardware/electronics/drone industry preferred).
- Freshers with strong learning ability may also be considered.
