About The Opportunity
A leading tertiary-care provider in the cardiac care and interventional cardiology sector, delivering advanced percutaneous and structural heart therapies across India. We operate high-volume cath lab services focused on timely, evidence-based treatment of acute and chronic coronary disease, with an emphasis on patient safety, outcomes and multidisciplinary care.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and perform diagnostic coronary angiography and therapeutic percutaneous coronary interventions (including complex PCI and CTO procedures) in a high-volume cath lab.
- Use intravascular imaging and physiology (IVUS, OCT, FFR/iFR) to plan and optimise interventions and interpret findings for clinical decision-making.
- Manage acute coronary syndromes and periprocedural complications, provide on-call coverage for cath lab emergencies and stabilise critically ill patients.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgery, anesthesiology, intensive care and allied teams to determine candidacy, coordinate hybrid procedures and ensure seamless peri-procedural care.
- Define and enforce cath lab protocols, radiation safety, infection control and quality metrics; lead morbidity & mortality reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
- Mentor and train junior cardiologists, fellows and cath lab staff; contribute to clinical audits, registry submissions and research activities to drive clinical excellence.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/DNB (Cardiology) and DM/DNB (Interventional Cardiology) or equivalent specialist qualification.
- Proven experience performing diagnostic coronary angiography and therapeutic PCI in a high-volume centre.
- Proficiency in complex coronary interventions (CTO, rotational atherectomy) and device use.
- Experience with intravascular imaging and physiology-guided interventions (IVUS, OCT, FFR/iFR).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and competency in managing procedural emergencies.
- Strong knowledge of cath lab protocols, radiation safety, sterile techniques and infection control.
Preferred
- Experience with structural heart interventions (TAVR, MitraClip, ASD/PFO closure).
- Familiarity with mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO).
- Track record in academic work, clinical trials or quality improvement projects.
