About The Opportunity

Healthcare Tertiary care Cardiology & Interventional Cardiology sector. We operate in a hospital setting delivering high-acuity cardiac care, minimally invasive coronary and structural interventions, and comprehensive inpatient/outpatient cardiology services in a fast-growing regional hub.

Position: Consultant Interventional Cardiologist (On-site) Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, India. Join a clinical team focused on excellence in interventional outcomes, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and execute percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including complex cases (bifurcation, multivessel, CTO techniques) using best-practice transfemoral and transradial approaches.
  • Provide pre-procedure assessment, peri-procedural haemodynamic management and post-procedure inpatient care, including acute coronary syndrome and STEMI management.
  • Lead cathlab case planning, device selection and intraprocedural imaging use (IVUS/OCT/FFR) to optimise procedural outcomes and reduce complications.
  • Establish and maintain clinical protocols, safety checklists and quality metrics for the catheterisation laboratory; ensure adherence to medico-legal and infection-control standards.
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgery, intensive care, anaesthesia and imaging teams for multidisciplinary care and timely escalation when required.
  • Mentor and supervise junior cardiologists, registrars and cath-lab staff; contribute to clinical governance, audits and teaching activities.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • DM/DrNB in Cardiology or equivalent super-specialty qualification
  • Postdoctoral fellowship or formal training in Interventional Cardiology
  • Valid medical registration with the appropriate Indian medical council/state medical board
  • Proven hands-on experience performing high-volume coronary angiography and PCI
  • Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) certification
  • Demonstrated competency with intraprocedural imaging and physiology (IVUS/OCT/FFR)

Preferred

  • Experience in structural interventions (TAVR, MitraClip, ASD/PFO closures)
  • Proficiency in complex atherectomy techniques (rotational or orbital atherectomy)
  • Track record of academic activitypublications, presentations or teaching roles
