Project Role: ESG Intern
Project Role Description: As an ESG Intern, you will assist the team in providing services related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors for clients. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the integration of ESG considerations into accounting and reporting processes, helping organizations align their operations with sustainability goals. This role is designed to support the growth of ESG-related services in accounting, reporting assurance, and compliance practices. You will work closely with senior team members to support client engagements, research, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- ESG Reporting & Data Collection: Assist in gathering and analyzing ESG-related data, preparing reports, and helping clients meet regulatory and reporting requirements related to environmental, social, and governance practices.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research on ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to support the development of client solutions. Help analyze how these trends can be incorporated into the clients accounting and reporting frameworks.
- Support in Audits & Reviews: Assist in the audit process by helping to evaluate and verify ESG disclosures, ensuring they align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Client Engagements: Work closely with senior team members to support ESG-related client engagements. This includes preparing presentations, reports, and assisting with client communication.
- Data Verification & Validation: Help verify ESG data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity. This may involve cross-checking information, assisting with data analysis, and supporting sustainability performance assessments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure the correct integration of ESG factors into accounting and reporting systems.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including sustainability, risk management, and financial reporting teams, to ensure the integration of ESG considerations into broader business strategies.
- Continuous Learning & Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and seminars on ESG and related regulations. Stay updated on ESG reporting guidelines, frameworks, and evolving industry standards.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of ESG Principles: Basic understanding of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and their importance in corporate sustainability and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to collect, validate, and analyze ESG-related data. Ability to assist in interpreting complex data and reporting findings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to assist in preparing reports and presentations that are clear and effective.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when verifying ESG data and preparing reports.
