The Ethics & Compliance Specialist (ECS) will be part of the Ethics & Compliance team at WSP. The role will be in WSP India. The ECS will be supporting the Ethics and Compliance functions across various regions.

Responsibilities

  • Support WSP E&C program by
    • Supporting the global E&C Officers and Analysts in conducting and documenting Due Diligence , Project Integrity Reviews and Organisational conflict of Interest (e.g. High-Risk Countries, Clients and Third Parties).
    • Support activities that mitigate any third-party risk because of Due Diligence findings.
    • Maintenance of Project Integrity Review related Registers and Databases.
    • Conducting checks and compliance audits on Project Integrity Review mitigation steps.
    • Assist ongoing optimisation of Project Integrity Review related Standard Operating Procedures to promote efficient and effective management.
  • Administering the Global Ethics & Compliance Tools, such as:
    • Gifts, Entertainment and Hospitality Register
    • Personal COI Register
    • Organisational COI Registers
  • Contribute to Risk, Ethics & Compliance Quarterly reporting by assisting with data collection.
  • Support anticorruption risk assessment activities and ongoing risk reviews.
  • Assisting in the creation of Ethics Shares for the wider UK business.

Provide other administrative support functions to the Ethics & Compliance Team, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience preferably in Quality Assurance, Due Diligence, KYC, Ethics & Compliance.
  • Significant experience in preparing written reports and documents in English
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and outstanding research skills
  • High degree of comfort with databases and similar IT and data management systems
  • Proven experience with Office 365 (majorly in MS Outlook, Word, Access and Excel)

  • Capability to conduct thorough systematic searches, document procedures and though in person engagements (via Teams) and produce results in clear and concise reports.
  • Intellectual curiosity about business operational and reputational risk factors, such as geopolitics, human rights, legal case history and the news.
  • Capability to conduct compliance, audits and assurance activities. Ability to provide clear and concise written findings.
  • Show distinct analytical, strategic and critical thinking, work through ambiguity and be detail oriented.
  • Highest level of ethical standard.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, tact, and decision-making ability, including the ability to challenge the business.
  • Good time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives and work in cross-cultural team.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to optimise and find efficient methods to continuously improve the research and reporting procedures.
  • Ability to scan through knowledge of corporate business structures, corporate family trees and corporate affiliations.
  • Ability to learn how to navigate different systems and databases efficiently, including using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and similar tools.

  • Strong English language skills, written and verbal, are required.
  • The flexibility of working with stakeholders across the globe.
