Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Product Design and Development
- Lead the design and development of soft trim components such as headliners, parcel shelves, and carpet insulation.
- Ensure adherence to product life cycle management processes for soft trim components.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT) principles.
- Apply hands-on expertise in CATIA and PLM software for design activities.
Manufacturing Knowledge Application
- Apply sound knowledge of soft trim manufacturing processes such as compression molding and plastic injection molding.
- Understand different material compositions, including fabrics and acoustic materials.
Performance and Compliance
- Ensure components meet BSR (Buzz, Squeak, Rattle) and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements (Europe, US).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Interact with cross-functional teams and suppliers to execute design development activities.
- Provide awareness and guidance on tools and fixture designs.
Engineering Process Management
- Follow engineering design release and change management processes rigorously.
- Drive continuous improvement in design, processes, and product performance.
