Job Description

Lord Krishna Builders (LKB), established in 2004, is a professionally managed organization with projects across Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Guruvayur.

Through Lord Krishna Institute of Technology and Skills, we aim to deliver industry-ready interior design education with strong emphasis on site execution, materials, drawings, software, and client handling.

We invite applications from experienced Interior Designers / Faculty who can teach, mentor, demonstrate practically, and prepare students for real projects, jobs, and freelancing.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Academic Delivery

  • Deliver classroom and studio sessions in Interior Design fundamentals and advanced practices.

  • Teach preparation and interpretation of:

    • Furniture layout plans

    • Ceiling & lighting layouts

    • Electrical & plumbing layouts

    • Tile & flooring layouts

    • Interior elevations, sections & detailed drawings

    • Wardrobe, kitchen & joinery details

  • Explain design concepts clearly to students with no prior design background.

  • Maintain a balanced approach between theory and practical training.


Software & Technical Training

  • Independently train students in industry-standard tools such as:

    • AutoCAD

    • SketchUp / Revit

    • 3ds Max / Blender

    • V-Ray / Corona

    • Lumion / Twinmotion

    • Photoshop (design presentation & post-render work)

  • Introduce AI-assisted design tools and workflows where applicable.

  • Guide students in converting drawings into BOQs and basic project costing.


Materials, Site & Execution Knowledge

  • Teach interior materials with real site application, including:

    • Plywood, MDF, HDF, WPC

    • Laminates, veneers, acrylic & PU finishes

    • Modular kitchen systems

    • False ceiling systems (Gypsum, POP, Grid)

    • Hardware & fittings

    • Tiles, marble, granite, glass & aluminium works

  • Explain execution methods, site coordination, quality checks, and common site mistakes.

  • Coordinate with carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and vendors during demonstrations.

  • Take students to live project sites for practical exposure (subject to project availability).


Student Mentoring & Career Support

  • Guide students in:

    • Portfolio preparation (technical drawings + renders)

    • Design presentations and client interaction skills

    • Job readiness, freelancing, and independent practice

  • Conduct:

    • Demo classes

    • Design reviews

    • Jury-style evaluations and assessments



Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design / Architecture, OR

  • Diploma in Interior Design with strong professional experience


Experience Requirements

  • Prior teaching or faculty experience is preferred

  • Mandatory professional interior design execution experience

  • Experience handling client meetings and design presentations

  • Exposure to residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, modular kitchen, or turnkey projects


Skills & Competencies
  • Strong command over technical drawings and execution detailing

  • Practical understanding of materials, finishes, and site processes

  • Proficiency in interior design and rendering software

  • Ability to mentor students for industry-ready outcomes

  • Strong communication and demonstration skills
