Role Overview

The Interior Designer (ID) at Artitians plays a pivotal role in translating client aspirations into design concepts, ensuring these concepts evolve into executable, high-quality design deliverables. The role demands a balance of creative vision, technical understanding, and openness to learning — a mindset that embraces growth and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement & Design Briefing

Participate in client meetings to understand functional requirements, taste, budget, and aesthetic preferences.

1. Translate client aspirations into design directions and maintain design intent throughout all stages.
2. Present mood boards, concept ideas, and 3D visualizations effectively for client approvals.

2. Concept Development

1. Develop strong conceptual frameworks and space planning solutions aligned with project objectives.
2. Research design trends, materials, finishes, and technologies to enhance design outcomes.
3. Collaborate with 3D and visualization teams to ensure render accuracy and design intent.

3. Design Documentation

1. Prepare detailed 2D drawings (layouts, elevations, sections, ceiling plans, etc.) as per studio standards.
2. Coordinate with Drafting Artists (ADs) for drawing accuracy, ensuring TAT (turnaround time) and quality as controlled by the ID.
3. Ensure all drawings meet DQC standards and comply with technical and practical site requirements.

4. Quality & Design Governance

1. Maintain design integrity and material selection consistency through all stages of a project.
2. Participate in internal design reviews and DQC sessions to ensure continuous quality improvement.
3. Assist in developing internal design libraries, templates, and documentation standards.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

1. Working knowledge of SketchUp, SketchUp Layout, MS Office, and rendering tools such as Enscape or V-Ray.
2. Familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage, but not mandatory.
3. Understanding of space planning, detailing, and material selection.
4. Ability to present and communicate design ideas visually and verbally.
5. Material & Hardware knowledge and awareness of interior finishes is a must.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field from a reputed institute.

Experience

2–3 years of professional experience in an interior design studio, preferably handling residential, retail, or corporate projects from concept to completion.
