Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Intensivist to join our dynamic team at Spandana Hospital in Bangalore. This full-time, mid-level role requires 4 to 6 years of experience in intensive care and critical patient management. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Critical Care Medicine (Mandatory skill): Demonstrated expertise in the principles and practice of modern critical care medicine for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ventilator Management (Mandatory skill): Proficient in initiating, adjusting, and weaning mechanical ventilation for various clinical scenarios.
  • Airway Management (Mandatory skill): Hands-on experience with advanced airway intervention techniques in emergency and ICU settings.
  • Sepsis Management: In-depth knowledge of the latest protocols for early recognition, treatment, and monitoring of sepsis in critically ill patients.
  • End-of-Life Care: Compassionate approach towards supporting terminally ill patients and families, ensuring dignity and comfort.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support: Certification and competency in ACLS for timely intervention in life-threatening cardiac emergencies.
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring: Ability to use invasive and non-invasive monitoring tools to assess and optimize cardiovascular function.
  • Sedation Protocols: Experience in implementing protocols for safe and effective sedation in the intensive care environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients admitted to the ICU, ensuring best clinical practices and patient safety at all times.
  • Lead the multidisciplinary team in assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical emergencies and respiratory failures.
  • Perform and supervise advanced procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and other lifesaving interventions.
  • Oversee ventilator and airway management, including customization to individual patient requirements and timely weaning strategies.
  • Monitor and interpret hemodynamic parameters to guide clinical decisions and optimize patient care plans.
  • Initiate timely interventions for sepsis, shock, and multi-organ dysfunction in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients families to discuss prognosis, treatment options, and end-of-life care, ensuring empathy and clarity.
  • Participate in clinical audits, training sessions, and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the department.
