Job Description

Manager IP Corporate Office

Location: Corporate Office, Hyderabad

Function: API Business

Department: Intellectual property rights

About the Role:

The Intellectual Property (IP) Manager will oversee and protect the company's patent portfolio in

the pharmaceutical industry. This role involves managing patent filings, ensuring compliance

with IP laws, and supporting the R&D and legal teams in all patent-related matters. Responsible

for conducting patent searches, support to R&D development processes, patent drafting, patent

filing and prosecution of patent applications and enable early product launches in regulated and

key emerging markets.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patent searches to identify potential IP blocking on in-house development process.
  • Support R&D teams in developing an alternate process, to work around blocking of the Ip's.
  • Preparation of non-infringement and infringement opinion for in-house products.
  • Conduct the patentability searches to identify potential inventions of in-house products.
  • Patent drafting and prosecuting the patent application by responding to the objections
  • raised by various patent offices.
  • Prepare a detailed landscape and freedom to operate reports by designing and implementing search strategies to identify the patents and applications relevant to a product.
  • Developing invalidation grounds if required and providing input and supporting documents.

What a good candidate will bring:

  • Minimum of 10 - 14 years of experience in IP management, preferably in API Pharma / Intermediates.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including its processes, technologies, and market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of API development cycle.
  • In-depth understanding of intellectual property (IP) laws in key markets worldwide
  • Proficiency in interpreting IP laws, especially as they pertain to decisions delivered by patent litigations.

Job Specification:

Practical Prior experience in handling Patent, patent portfolio management.

Excellent analytical and strategic thinking.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualification

Masters's degree in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, or related field.

  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Good writing skills, and potential to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, timeline-driven environment.
  • Innovative and creative mindset
  • Experience of managing contracts with external parties.
  • Possesses excellent science communication, organization, management, and administrative skills.
