Job Description

Job Summary:

The IPR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end intellectual property and legal compliance functions of the organization. This role involves overseeing trademark, copyright, patent, and design matters, along with handling commercial agreements, dispute resolution, and litigation support. The ideal candidate will ensure protection of the company's intellectual assets while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Intellectual Property Management

  • Manage complete lifecycle of IP assets including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and designs.
  • Conduct trademark searches, filings, prosecution, examination responses, and opposition proceedings.
  • Handle hearings, assignments, transfers, and recordable services related to IP rights.
  • Oversee patent and design filings, including coordination of prosecution and examination responses.
  • Ensure timely renewals and maintenance of IP portfolio.

2. Legal Drafting & Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and corporate agreements.
  • Ensure agreements align with legal standards and organizational policies.
  • Provide legal advice on contractual and regulatory matters.

3. Dispute Resolution & Consumer Matters

  • Handle consumer disputes and draft responses to legal notices.
  • Manage dispute resolution processes before relevant authorities and forums.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to mitigate legal risks.

4. Litigation Support

  • Assist in litigation management by coordinating with external legal counsel.
  • Prepare pleadings, legal documentation, and case briefs.
  • Monitor ongoing legal proceedings and maintain case records.

5. Compliance & Advisory

  • Ensure compliance with applicable IP laws and corporate regulations.
  • Advise management on IP strategy, risk mitigation, and legal implications of business decisions.
  • Stay updated with changes in IP laws and industry practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); LLM or specialization in Intellectual Property Law preferred.
  • 510 years of relevant experience in IP management and legal compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of trademark, copyright, patent, and design laws.
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with law firms or corporate legal departments.
