IP Counsel | Global MNC | Gurgaon
Aquis Search has partnered with a leading US-headquartered multinational to hire an Intellectual Property Counsel for their Global Capability Center in Gurgaon, India.
Shift time: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM IST (to align with US hours).
This is a high-impact individual contributor role, working closely with legal stakeholders in the US and across global functions like Sales, R&D, Product, and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end support for global (mainly US) trademarks, patents, trade dress, and IP enforcement (approx. 75% of role).
- Lead first-level IP enforcement globally (drafting C&Ds, takedowns, external counsel coordination).
- Handle IP-related contracts, portfolio management, and marketing reviews for both US and India markets.
- Own India IP strategy and execution (approx. 25%)including filings, compliance, enforcement, and team training.
- Partner with global legal teams to streamline IP operations, integrate legal tech tools, and drive scalable solutions.
Ideal Profile:
- 57 years of post-qualification IP legal experience, with exposure to both US and Indian IP regimes.
- Qualified to practice law in India; Indian Patent Agent or USPTO registration preferred.
- Experience in both trademark and patent lifecycle management and enforcement.
- Strong command over IP laws including the Trade Marks Act, Patents Act, Copyright Act, and ad/marketing regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and communicate legal risk in business terms.
