Job Description

About Integra Connect

Integra Connect is a leader in advancing value-based and precision medicine for specialty care practices. We empower providers, payers, and life sciences organizations to achieve superior clinical and financial outcomes through innovative technology, data-driven insights, and AI-enabled solutions.

Our mission is to enhance decision-making and positively impact patient lives by unifying healthcare and technology excellence.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Performance Engineer Lead to design, implement, and optimize performance testing frameworks across our healthcare applications and platforms.

As a lead in the Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET) team, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of mission-critical systems by defining performance testing strategies, identifying bottlenecks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing, robust applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end performance engineering strategy for enterprise healthcare applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain performance testing frameworks and reusable test components.
  • Plan and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests to assess system behavior under various conditions.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and QA teams to identify performance bottlenecks, tune application performance, and optimize infrastructure usage.
  • Analyze application metrics, logs, and traces to pinpoint root causes of latency or resource inefficiencies.
  • Define performance benchmarks, KPIs, and SLAs aligned with business and system goals.
  • Develop and maintain performance test scripts using industry-standard tools (LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, k6, or equivalent).
  • Work closely with developers to provide early performance feedback during the design and development stages.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, infrastructure sizing, and performance tuning at application, middleware, and database levels.
  • Create comprehensive test reports and dashboards, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers, establish performance testing best practices, and drive a culture of performance awareness across teams.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in performance engineering or performance testing for enterprise-scale applications.
  • Strong expertise in tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, BlazeMeter, or k6.
  • Hands-on experience with profiling and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack).
  • Solid understanding of software performance metrics, including response times, throughput, resource utilization, and scalability patterns.
  • Experience in back-end performance testing, especially for REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-based systems.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or C# for developing performance test scripts or integrating test frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SQL and ability to analyze database performance (indexes, query plans, transactions).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance tests into automated workflows using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and software architecture principles.
  • Proven experience in identifying memory leaks, thread contention, and network latency issues.
  • Ability to interpret system metrics from cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and recommend performance optimizations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with attention to detail and accountability for results.

Preferred / Nice To Have

  • Prior experience working in healthcare technology, EMR/EHR systems, or HIPAA-compliant environments.
  • Exposure to containerized and distributed systems (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with API gateways, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of Performance Engineering at Scale for microservices and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
  • Experience in using cloud monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Stackdriver, or Azure Monitor.
  • Certifications in Performance Testing, Cloud Architecture, or DevOps are advantageous.

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic foundation in software development, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Additional certifications in performance testing tools or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a plus.

Why Join Integra Connect

  • Be part of a mission-driven organization transforming healthcare through data and technology.
  • Work with cutting-edge cloud, data, and AI platforms that directly improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with highly skilled engineers and domain experts in a culture of continuous innovation.
  • Competitive compensation, healthcare benefits, and professional growth opportunities.
