Role Overview:

The Instructional Designer will play a key role in designing and developing high-quality, engaging learning experiences for IIT Bombay's Educational Outreach initiatives.

This role focuses on curriculum design, storyboarding, and creating interactive e-learning content using tools such as PowerPoint and Articulate 360. You will work closely with faculty and cross-functional teams to translate academic content into structured, learner-centric formats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with faculty to define learning objectives and design curriculum frameworks for online and blended programs
• Create course outlines, lesson plans, and instructional materials aligned with best practices
• Develop high-quality PowerPoint presentations with advanced animations, transitions, and triggers
• Design engaging multimedia content including videos, assessments, and interactive modules
• Storyboard lessons and video content using PowerPoint, Word, or Excel
• Build e-learning assets using tools like Articulate Rise and Storyline
• Conduct quality checks to ensure instructional effectiveness, accuracy, and accessibility
• Ensure compliance with copyright and regulatory standards
• Work closely with videographers, program managers, and designers for seamless course delivery
• Stay updated with instructional design trends and bring innovation into learning solutions

Desired Experience / Skills:

• Bsc/Msc in a relevant field; candidates with formal training or certification in Instructional Design or e-learning tools will be preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in academic or university settings
• Strong expertise in PowerPoint (animations, triggers) is mandatory
• Hands-on experience with Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise, Studio)
• Experience in content curation and building structured learning journeys
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools
• Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to simplify complex concepts into engaging learning experiences
