JD For Instruction Designer
Role Objectives
Pivotal role for conceptualization of learning material after engaging with stakeholders to understand business requirements; Ensure that the learning content can be customised for scale; Advise on new ways of designing the learning content
Key Responsibilities
- · Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
- · Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- · Develop and design courses and modules, including self paced learning materials
- · Write scripts for video and audio content
- · Design learning activities that enhance the learning efficacy and experience
- · Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- · Decide on the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments
- · Suggest new digital tools to enable better facilitation, enhance learner experience, facilitate enhanced metrics reporting.
- · Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- · Maintain project documentation and course folders
- · Remain updated on best practices in instructional design
- Skills & Requirements
- · Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
- · Strong project management and organization skills
- · Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information to learners
- · Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
- · Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadline
- · Can work independently and in a team while closely following through on both oral and written instructions
- · Can multitask effectively, organize projects/initiatives, and implement ideas while meeting established deadlines
- · Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- · Experience with design platforms, Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard
- · Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- · Degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
- · 5+ years of relevant work experience
