About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Institutional Investment Operations Representative.


In this role, you will:

  • Perform a variety of operational tasks for routine and medium complex institutional trades that require general knowledge of unit functions and systems

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve process specific goals

  • Review time sensitive document

  • Support audit requirements within the process

  • Address compliance and corporate governance issues for the department

  • Interact with internal and external customers as per prescribed process or procedure

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve process goals

  • Execute tasks and perform activities as per direction from leaders and understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Institutional Investment Operations support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Settlements is the final step in the lifecycle of a Derivatives transaction. Team will be responsible for confirming Settlements with counterparties, analyze & reconcile accounts every day, the breaks with Middle Office & Front office groups and escalate the issues to the management.

  • Support the team working on Derivative Settlements

  • Providing support to Derivative clients across Rates, equities, credit, and commodity products

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development.

  • Collaborate with all business partners and various departments, create efficiencies, and mitigate risk for team and organization

  • Make daily supervisory decisions for team of analysts and resolve issues related to team supervision, work allocation, and daily operations

  • Leverage interpretation of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Lead the team to achieve objectives and strategy

  • Supervise confirmation of payments, processing of daily settlements as well as providing support to external and internal clients

  • Organizes the work of the team, assigns task, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work

  • Understands needs and sensitivities of internal and external clients and proactively ensures these are met

  • Partner with Technology to identify/resolve system issues and implement system enhancements to increase efficiency

  • Proactive in identifying potential issues, handling the same and escalating issues to Senior Mgt. in a timely manner

  • Participate by leading & driving Organization wide initiatives within CIB

  • Drive learning Initiatives, Adherence to discipline, punctuality & compliance by the team and manage attrition


Job Expectations:

  • MBA or an advanced degree (or equivalent exp.)

  • Experience of 0-2 years in OTC Derivative Settlements domain which includes Pre-Confirmation, Post Confirmation, Reset advise and Clearing Settlements

  • Understanding about current Regulations and their impact on OTC market & settlements function

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written/verbal)

  • Ability to plan and organize workload within tight deadlines and meeting day-to-day objectives.

  • Should have good understanding of Derivative Rates, Equity, credit and commodity products

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong partnership with business stakeholders and other support functions

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver on commitments

  • Understanding about current Regulations and their impact on OTC market & settlements function

  • Strong knowledge of market settlement processes like Clearstream, Euroclear and LCH etc.

  • Perform process improvement and redesign - proactively identify, analyze and improve existing processes including leading process reengineering initiatives.

  • Should be competent in leading & managing transition of processes from other locations

  • Strong knowledge of US, European and Asian market settlement processes

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written/verbal)

  • Willing to work in US shifts
