Key Responsibilities
Server & Hardware Deployment
- Lead hardware provisioning, including advanced RAID configuration and disk array optimization for high-write-volume applications such as video storage systems.
- Configure and validate Dell iDRAC and Lifecycle Controller settings, establishing firmware baselines with Dell OpenManage.
- Deploy Windows Server and hardened Linux distributions via PXE boot automation or iDRAC Virtual Media, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
Network Configuration & Management
- Design and implement network segmentation strategies using VLANs and dedicated subnets to isolate security traffic from management networks.
- Configure QoS policies on Cisco Catalyst switches to prioritize high-bandwidth video streams with low latency and minimal packet loss.
- Manage PoE/PoE+ budgeting and monitoring for access layer switches to support IP cameras, door readers, and security panels.
- Harden Cisco IOS devices using ACLs, disabling unnecessary services, and securing management protocols (SSH/HTTPS).
Testing, Validation & Support
- Coordinate with network engineers and installation teams to validate network readiness, port activations, and device-to-server connectivity.
- Execute bandwidth saturation tests, physical layer distance checks, and latency measurements prior to operational handoff.
- Provide 24x7 technical support, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions for medium-complexity issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop detailed logical and physical topology diagrams, VLAN matrices, IP assignment records, and configuration backups.
- Maintain accurate asset management records, weekly project status updates, and programming sheet validations throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Collaborate across technical teams, including physical security installers and sustaining operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge to strengthen team capabilities.
