As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, youutilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities

  • Plan, design, install, configure, and support highly resilient mainframe network infrastructure with automation.
  • Automate network operations using JCL, REXX, Unix shell scripting, and z/OSMF workflows.
  • Develop software systems and tooling to solve complex infrastructure problems through automation.
  • Integrate mainframe capabilities via RESTful APIs using Swagger or similar frameworks.
  • Install, customize, and evaluate mainframe network products.
  • Define, maintain, and modify z/Series network product configurations.
  • Manage and support transmission products: FTPs (SSL), sFTP (SSH), and Connect:Direct Secure (NDM).
  • Manage and support session manager applications: TPX and Supersession.
  • Maintain and engineer core network components: TCP/IP (including DVIPA/DDVIPA), IPSEC, IPFILTER, IDS, Enterprise Extender, SNA, VTAM, APPN, and OSA connectivity.
  • Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC, AT-TLS, TLS) and enforce protocol and cipher policies aligned to company standards.
  • Monitor network health and performance using Omegamon, MainView, mainframe tracing tools, and sniffers develop and refine operational procedures.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, IP security, SNA, OSA, FTP, SSH, SNMP, SMTP, JCL, SDSF, VSAM, SMP/E, Unix System Services, Parallel Sysplex, IBM system utilities, and network tools (NDM, TPX, NetView, NetMaster).
  • Perform mainframe network product installations, customizations, and evaluations.
  • Define, maintain, and modify z/Series network products and related configurations.
  • Manage and support transmission products: FTPs (SSL), sFTP (SSH), and Connect:Direct Secure (NDM).
  • Manage and support session manager applications: TPX and Supersession.
  • Develop mainframe network toolkits using NetMaster, NetView, REXX, and CLISTs.
  • Maintain and configure core network components, including TCP/IP (DVIPA/DDVIPA), IPSEC, IPFILTER, IDS, Enterprise Extender, SNA, VTAM, APPN, and OSA.
  • Tune performance and develop operational procedures for mainframe networking services.
  • Support TCP/IP encryption methods (IPSEC, AT-TLS, TLS) and monitor protocols and ciphers in line with company policies.
