What you'll do
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take the lead on designing intuitive, self-service database products that make all the difference to our customers, as well as our strategic targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your career in a highly innovative and supportive environment.
You'll design and deliver secure, compliant and resilient AWS based cloud infrastructure, embedding guardrails across IAM, encryption, monitoring, and automated compliance while ensuring optimal TCO. You'll shape the cloud platform roadmap, advising on solution architecture and driving self‑service, observability, containers and serverless capabilities aligned to enterprise and well architected standards. You'll also lead automation, DevOps, FinOps, and resilience through IaC, CI/CD, cost optimisation and highly available multi AZ and multi‑region architectures.

- Provide operational support for pattern or product-related issues, and contribute to the delivery of infrastructure as code solutions
- Build awareness of design-thinking tools and techniques across the bank to improve products

The skills you'll need
To thrive in this role, you'll have experience in software development or automation scripting, such as Python or Shell. You'll need at least twelve years of experience with expertise across AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, Lambda, EMR, MWAA, CodeBuild, CloudWatch, and AI services, with the ability to design serverless and container‑based solutions aligned to the AWS Well‑Architected Framework and enterprise standards.
You'll need strong capability in DevOps and automation through CI/CD, observability and IaC like Terraform or CloudFormation while driving cloud security, compliance, FinOps, and cost optimisation. You'll also need experience in designing highly available, fault‑tolerant and disaster recovery ready architectures at scale.
In Addition, You'll Have
- Experience of the development of CI or CD pipelines using modern tooling
- Experience in software testing practices and tools, as well as observability tools and techniques to continuously improve solutions
- Private and public cloud technology knowledge covering AWS, Linux and modern database technologies
- Experience of working with technology deployed in a private cloud
- Strong collaborative and communication skills, and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
