Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage RHEL & AIX systems with heavy focus on Ansible automation
- Build and deploy infrastructure using Ansible playbooks & Tower
- Automate patching, provisioning, and configuration management
- Support VMware/ESXi environments and virtual infrastructure
- Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Ensure high availability, security, and compliance
- Manage storage (SAN), LVM, multipathing, and backups
- Support DR activities and system upgrades/migrations
Job Complexity
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Solves complex infra issues using automation-first approach
- Drives process improvements through Ansible or other automation tool
- Acts as SME for Linux, AIX, and automation practices
- Guides junior team members
- Qualifications
- 7–10 years of Linux (RHEL) & AIX administration
- Strong expertise in Ansible automation (must-have)
- Experience in VMware, networking, and enterprise infrastructure
- Hands-on in patching, upgrades, monitoring, and security
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Arrow Electronics is hiring a Linux Systems Engineer to manage enterprise Red Hat Linux & AIX infrastructure in a global environment. The role focuses on automation-first operations using Ansible, ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available data center systems.
We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong automation mindset, infrastructure expertise, and continuous improvement focus.
Principal Accountabilities (Summary)
- Design, implement, and support Linux & AIX infrastructure with Ansible automation
- Automate provisioning, patching, configuration, and deployments
- Monitor performance, ensure high availability and security compliance
- Optimize systems with automation-driven improvements
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and automation standards
What You Will Be Doing
- Build and manage RHEL & AIX servers using Ansible playbooks
- Automate OS patching, upgrades, and BAU operations
- Work on Ansible Tower, workflows, and templates
- Support VMware/ESXi virtual environments
- Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and bridge calls
- Manage storage (SAN, LVM, ASM), backups, and DR activities
- Perform performance tuning and system optimization
- Collaborate with teams to deliver automation-driven solutions
- Maintain security, compliance, and system health monitoring
What We Are Looking For
- 7–10 years in Linux (RHEL) & AIX administration
- Strong hands-on expertise in Ansible automation (must-have)
- Experience in VMware, networking, and enterprise infra
- Knowledge of Oracle DB environments (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Passion for automation and continuous improvement
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in Ansible Tower, playbooks, roles
- Experience with data center & high availability environments
- Knowledge of SAN storage, DR, migrations, and upgrades
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and ServiceNow
- Strong understanding of VMware (ESXi/VCenter)
