Summary:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will assist in defining requirements, designing and building data center technology components, and performing testing efforts. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our data center infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare moderate to complex network designs/schematics to address specific customer network solution requirements for Fortinet firewalls and network security.
- Prepare work orders containing instructions to be used by technicians to configure network hardware and software of Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Work with customer technical teams to provide solutions for customers internetworking communications requirements.
- Configure and troubleshoot FortiManager, Panorama, Fortinet, and Palo Alto equipment in a complex environment.
- Remotely support new installs, upgrades, and logical changes, including policy changes with B2B IPsec tunnel configuration and L7 NGFW features and threat protections.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must-Have Skills: Data center firewall setup, Fortinet firewall, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 load balancer.
- Good-to-Have Skills: FortiManager, FortiFirewall, Palo Alto firewall, Panorama, and SSL VPN (FortiClient or GlobalProtect).
- Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Fortinet firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, IPSEC, SSL VPN, and firewall hardware.
- Maintain and design Fortinet/Palo Alto firewall setups, including protocols, NGFW features, security, and redundancy.
- Troubleshoot critical incidents and problem tickets.
- Identify potential failures and recommend solutions.
- Update the knowledge base with known errors and resolutions.
- Provide day-to-day operational support for in-scope devices.
- Have advanced-level knowledge of fault management, including identifying, classifying, investigating, diagnosing, and resolving faults.
- Experience with software patch management to ensure timely deployment of patches.
- Experience managing client networks, firewall configuration, and firewall architecture.
- Expertise in advanced security next-generation features and network protocols.
- Coordinate with clients on hardware BOM requirements, hardware baseline standards, and core-level debugging.
- Follow ITIL processes and demonstrate skills in incident and change management methodologies.
- Drive network projects and support data center-level deployment of network firewall hardware.
- Experience with Wireshark or other network analysis tools is desirable.
Additional Information:
- Experience with Cisco Security, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls.
- Experience in supporting network deployments and performing network transitions or transformations.
- Good understanding of procedures, applications, and concepts within the subject area.
- Flexible to work in a 24x7 environment.
