Role Overview
This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting automation for virtual infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The infrastructure is primarily hosted in on-premises data centers, leveraging platforms such as VMware and OpenShift. The engineer will work closely with global teams to build, operate, and enhance scalable infrastructure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions to deliver Infrastructure as Code
- Support and operate virtualized infrastructure platforms in on-premises data centers
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
- Build and maintain containerized platforms using Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Develop automation scripts and APIs for platform operations
- Ensure infrastructure reliability, security, and performance
- Create and maintain technical documentation including runbooks, DR plans, and architecture diagrams
- Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams
Required Technical Skills
- Strong Linux expertise across RHEL, Ubuntu, and SUSE (5+ years)
- Kubernetes experience (1+ year)
- OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization experience (1+ year)
- Automation tools: Ansible, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions
- Container technologies (2+ years)
- Cloud platforms (PaaS/IaaS), preferably Google Cloud Platform (3+ years)
- CI/CD pipelines using Git, Tekton, or similar tools (2+ years)
- Programming and scripting: Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Shell (3+ years)
- RESTful API development (2+ years)
- Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, DB2 (2+ years)
- Infrastructure testing, code quality, and security tools (e.g., SonarQube, Checkmarx, Cycode, 42Crunch)
- Knowledge of application architectures, web deployments, and infrastructure security
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)
- Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, Habitat
- Ansible Automation Platform
