About the Role

As an IT Support Specialist at PlusWealth, you will be responsible for providing software application support, ensuring hardware and operating system functionality, and managing various IT assets. You will work closely with the Senior Engineer to maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure, supporting both internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Software Application Support: Provide software application support under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
  • Hardware and OS Management: Ensure effective hardware and operating system functionality of the platform.
  • Server Backup: Perform daily backups of Linux-based servers and verify their integrity on the same day.
  • Configuration and Updates: Keep records of configuration changes and schedule application updates.
  • Asset Management: Manage records of all IT assets, including hardware and software.
  • Client and Colleague Support: Provide IT support to clients and colleagues in other departments.
  • Networking: Understand and implement basic LAN, WAN, and networking technologies.
  • System Management: Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, and peripherals.
  • Scripting and Task Scheduling: Basic understanding of shell scripting, task scheduling, and the booting process.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in IT support, preferably within a trading environment.
  • Experience in trade support and understanding of financial trading processes.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and server management.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting, task scheduling, and the booting process.
  • Basic knowledge of LAN, WAN, and networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with support levels (L1, L2) and P2 incident management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
