Role: ServiceNow Technical Consultant – Integrations/Platform

Location: Resource needs to be located off shore in either HYDERABAD, BANGALORE, GURGAON or GANDHINAGAR.

Mode : Onsite , 4Days in a week

Duration : 12+ Months

This document defines the functional and operational expectations for the ServiceNow expert service engagement for Platform Operations. It establishes a framework for high-quality delivery within the CoE, ensuring that all development, integration engineering, and platform governance activities adhere to enterprise-scale architecture, security, and out-of-the-box (OOB) sustainability.

Expectation and Activities

These are the core expectation and functional areas in scope for the engagement:

Application Development: Design, build, and implement scoped/custom applications, ensuring alignment with CoE standards for scalability and reusability. While individual workstreams deliver their specific business solutions, the CoE is expected to drive shared platform capabilities, particularly across integration, governance, and foundation data.

Platform Configuration: Expertise in Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and UI Policies, Glide APIs (GlideRecord, GlideAggregate, GlideAjax)

Automation: Develop automation using Flow Designer, Subflows, Action Designer, Events, and Notifications.

Integration Engineering: Design and implement Scripted REST APIs (inbound/outbound), IntegrationHub spokes, and Out-of-Box APIs like Table, Import, SCIM API.

Module-Specific Support: Provide functional and technical expertise across one or more ServiceNow modules such as CSM, LSD, and WSD for CR1 reviews and hands-on development support as needed. This includes supporting the migration of functionality from existing applications, enabling scalable and case lifecycle implementations, and establishing reusable process patterns that serve as playbooks for future use.

Data Enrichment: Identification foundation data processes for each application integrated with the platform, along with support in building structured data models and enrichment processes from internal systems.

UI & Workspace Design: Configure user interfaces using UI Builder and Configurable Workspaces.

Data & Analytics: Manage Dashboard and Reporting with Performance Analytics (PA).

Security & Access Control: Configure and maintain Access Control Lists (ACLs), roles, and data policies.

Release Management: Oversee code migration, GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) integration implementation, and Update Set/Application Repository management.

Platform Operations: Handle instance cloning impacts, group management, and environment consistency.

Execution and Standards

These are the principles and quality standards for this engagement :

Modular & Upgrade-Safe Design: All solutions must follow reusable design principles that minimize impact on out-of-box functionality to ensure easy upgrades.

Centralized Governance: Development must be governed through structured code reviews and standardized practices to ensure consistency across the platform.

Secure & Resilient Integrations: Integrations must be secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant, utilizing OAuth/token-based authentication and robust error-handling/retry logic.

Asynchronous Patterns: Engineering efforts should prioritize asynchronous or event-driven patterns, such as queues and scheduled jobs, rather than point-to-point implementations.

Performance Optimization: Solutions must support enterprise-scale data volumes by using optimized GlideRecord queries and indexed fields.

OOB-First Approach: Solution must leverage OOB scripts, configurations, and shared components to enforce maintainability.

Operational Readiness: Deliverables must include playbooks, monitoring tools, and impact analyses to ensure the platform is ready for Run transitions.

Professional Expertise: Implementation is done by industry-recognized standards, equivalent to ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and relevant Implementation Specialist credentials.

Technical Debt Reduction: Solutions must incorporate platform health assessments to maintain stability and reduce long-term technical debt
