About the Role
The role involves overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, servers, and IT infrastructure while managing a team of system administrators to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems, servers, and IT infrastructure.
- Manage server provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- Plan and lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and scaling initiatives.
- Implement and maintain 24/7 monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning for critical systems and services.
- Ensure all infrastructure activities comply with industry standards, data privacy laws and internal policies.
- Drive root-cause analysis and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Development, QA, Security and Product teams to align infrastructure roadmap with business needs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of system administrators, including performance reviews, task delegation, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, conduct regular one-on-ones, and ensure team alignment with company goals.
- Coordinate workload distribution, resolve conflicts, and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
- Ensure proper access control, periodic audits, and infrastructure documentation.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in the enterprise-level networking with extensive knowledge in routing, switching, TCP/IP protocols & load-balancing.
- Hands-on Experience in Linux OS environments including configuration and tuning.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows.
- Hands-on experience in server management and virtualization concepts.
- Solid understanding of networking, switches, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of data security and access control.
- Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage critical incidents calmly.
- Experience in cloud technologies and services.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting.
Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech. / BCA / MCA / M.Tech. or Equivalent
