Job Description

Hill Spring International School is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Infrastructure/IT Services Incharge to oversee and manage the school's IT systems, infrastructure, and services. The ideal candidate will ensure the seamless operation of all technology-related resources, support the academic and administrative staff, and enhance the learning environment through reliable and innovative IT solutions. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, or a related field.

Certifications: CCNA, Microsoft Certified Professional, or equivalent.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing VMWare, Windows Client and Servers AD, Desktop and Laptop systems, Cisco L2/L3 switches, Enterprise Wireless systems and Firewall, Working with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, and cloud-based systems, Database systems such as SQL and other leading meta data storage technologies (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365). Practical experience of Windows Server 2012/ Windows 10 and above, Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and practices (firewalls, antivirus, etc.). Familiarity with educational software and out of classroom technologies (e.g., LMS, Teams, Google Classroom) and hardware (smartboards, CCTV and GPS tracking).

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical staff, students, Parent's and vendors.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management or IT services, preferably in an educational institution.

Breakdown of the job description:

  1. IT Infrastructure Management:

Design, implement, and maintain the school's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, ILLs, hardware, and software systems. Ensure high availability and security of Wi-Fi, LAN, and internet connectivity across the campus. Monitor and maintain IT assets such as computers, laptops, smartboards, and printers.

  1. Working Conditions:

On-site role with occasional after-hours support for emergencies or school events. Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed (e.g., computers, Network Switches).

  1. Technical Support:

Provide timely technical support to faculty, staff, and students for hardware, software, and network-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems to minimize downtime and disruptions in teaching and administrative operations. Train teachers and staff on the effective use of educational technology tools and software.

  1. System Administration:

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for school systems (e.g., email, learning management systems, databases, Windows Server). Perform regular system backups, updates, and security patches to ensure data integrity and protection. Oversee the deployment and maintenance of educational software and applications used by the school.

  1. Cybersecurity and Data Protection:

Implement and enforce IT security policies to safeguard sensitive school data (e.g., student records, financial information). Monitor systems for potential security threats and respond to incidents promptly. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and school policies.

  1. Vendor Coordination and Procurement:

Liaise with external vendors for procurement of IT hardware, software, and services. Recommend cost-effective solutions to enhance infrastructure and services. Oversee maintenance contracts and service agreements with third-party providers.

  1. Technology Integration in Education:

Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into the classroom, supporting digital learning initiatives. Maintain and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment and other tech tools used in classrooms and during the events in school designated Cafetorium. Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and propose upgrades as needed.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, licenses, and warranties. Prepare reports on IT system performance, incidents, and improvement plans for school management. Document processes and create user manuals for staff and students as required.
