Job Summary:

The Infor LN System Administrator is responsible for the overall administration, stability, security, and performance of the Infor LN application environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for LN users and coordinates with Infor Global Support when required. The administrator ensures smooth day-to-day operations, proactive system maintenance, data integrity, and continuous improvement of the LN landscape.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Application Administration

Monitor the overall health and performance of the Infor LN application environment.

Perform system upgrades, patches, and updates as released by Infor.

Configure application settings and manage scheduled jobs such as backups and periodic runs.

Maintain detailed documentation of system changes for audit and troubleshooting purposes.

Primary Contact & Support Coordination

Act as the primary contact between business users and the LN system.

Analyze and resolve user-reported issues and enhancement requests.

Coordinate with Infor Global Support Centers for escalated issues and follow up until resolution.

Provide clear communication to business users on incidents and resolutions.

System & Environment Management

Maintain in-depth knowledge of LN application architecture, directory structures, and file locations.

Perform initialization procedures including:

Creating new company numbers

Entering data for new companies

Copying existing or multi-company structures

Support both on-premises and cloud-based LN environments.

Database & Performance Management

Reorganize LN database tables to reclaim disk space and maintain optimal performance.

Monitor and analyze database locking issues using LN logging tools.

Generate and analyze lock statistics and reports to identify performance bottlenecks.

Disk Space & File Management

Monitor disk usage and establish threshold alerts to prevent space-related failures.

Remove temporary, log, and obsolete files on a regular basis.

Plan and support storage expansion as business data grows.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Create and maintain regular backup schedules.

Verify backups and perform restoration testing.

Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

Security & User Management

Manage user creation, roles, authorizations, and access control.

Enforce security policies, password standards, and periodic access reviews.

Monitor system logs for unauthorized or suspicious activities.

Customization & System Enhancement

Create and customize LN components such as menus, forms, and reports.

Run periodic application programs for system housekeeping (e.g., statistics updates, transaction cleanup).

Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.

Logging, Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Maintain and review system logs including:

Application environment details

Table reorganizations

Disk space usage

Backup schedules

User activity and system changes

Error messages and resolutions

Perform root-cause analysis for system and application issues.

Training & Documentation

Develop and maintain system administration documentation and SOPs.

Provide training and guidance to internal teams and end users.

Promote best practices for LN usage and system stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience as an Infor LN System / Application Administrator.

Strong understanding of Infor LN architecture, database structures, and system administration tasks.

Hands-on experience with:

LN table reorganization

User and role management

Backup and recovery procedures

System logging and performance analysis

Knowledge of multi-company environments.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with LN performance tuning and database locking analysis.

Exposure to cloud-based LN environments.

Scripting or automation experience for system housekeeping tasks.

Prior experience working with Infor Global Support.
