About The Opportunity

We operate in the industrial automation and manufacturing automation sector, delivering control, motion, robotics, and IIoT solutions to discrete and process industries across India. Our customers include OEMs, system integrators, and large end-users seeking production reliability, process optimisation, and digital transformation.

Role Title: Sales Engineer Industrial Automation (On-site, India)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive new business and account growth by qualifying opportunities, developing technical proposals, and closing industrial automation projects (PLC, HMI/SCADA, drives, robotics).
  • Lead technical presales: deliver solution design, system architecture, bill of materials, cost estimates, and ROI justifications for customers and RFQs.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to build customised demos, POCs, and site trials that validate performance and uptime improvements.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycles including tender response, commercial negotiation, contract handover, and post-sale escalation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and plant engineering teams through regular on-site engagement and executive briefings.
  • Track sales pipeline in CRM, forecast accurately, and collaborate on pricing, lead times, and resource planning for on-site projects.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics) or equivalent.
  • Proven field sales or presales experience in industrial automation solutionsPLC, HMI/SCADA, drives or robotics.
  • Strong technical understanding of PLC/HMI architecture, VFDs, industrial networking and system integration concepts.
  • Experience preparing RFQs, technical proposals, and commercial bids for manufacturing/utility customers.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel to customer sites across India and delivering on-site demonstrations.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools for pipeline management and Microsoft Office suite for proposals and presentations.

Preferred

  • Factory or vendor certifications (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, & Schneider) or formal training in motion control/robotics.
  • Experience with IIoT platforms, cloud-enabled telemetry, or analytics-driven predictive maintenance projects.
  • Prior exposure to electrical panel design, EPLAN, or system commissioning on industrial sites.
