About the Role:
As an Industrial Experience Architect, you will be responsible for designing seamless, effective, and innovative experiences across industrial systems, interfaces, and physical/digital touchpoints. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape how operators, engineers, and technicians interact with complex systems, ensuring safety, usability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design user-centered experiences for industrial environments (factories, plants, control rooms, etc.).
- Develop user journeys, service blueprints, and system interaction models.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, systems engineers, and operational staff.
- Conduct ethnographic research, field observations, and stakeholder interviews.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation for digital and physical interfaces.
- Ensure alignment with ergonomic standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
- Drive the integration of human factors engineering into system design.
- Evaluate and improve legacy system interfaces for enhanced usability and performance.
- Advocate for user-centric design in highly technical or constrained environments.
- Present design concepts and findings to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial Design, Human Factors, Architecture, HCI, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in experience design or architecture within an industrial or complex systems setting.
- Proven experience with digital transformation projects in manufacturing, energy, transportation, or similar sectors.
Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or CAD software).
- Strong understanding of human-machine interaction and user-centered design principles.
- Familiarity with industrial systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC, MES) and IoT.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing in operational environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience with augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), or digital twin technologies.
- Certification in Human Factors, UX, or Ergonomics is a plus.
