Job Description

Job Title: Individual Contributor HR/Executive

Department: Human Resources

Industry: Gems & Jewellery / Luxury Retail

Experience Required: 4-7 years (preferably within Gems & Jewellery / Luxury Retail sector)

Location: Kala Ghoda (Near Gateway of India)

Reporting To: Director

Role Overview:

The IC/HR Executive will manage end-to-end HR functions for both manufacturing and retail operations of Mehta & Sons, a premium jewellery brand delving into bespoke and high-end jewellery. The role involves overseeing talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, HR compliance, training, and HR operations while ensuring alignment with the organization's luxury brand culture and operational standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in retail workforce management, jewellery manufacturing HR practices, and employee lifecycle management within the luxury retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

ؠSetup a recruitment SOP for the company, with clear timelines and systems for manpower requirements.

ؠManage the end-to-end recruitment process for retail stores, corporate office, and manufacturing units

ؠPartner with department heads to understand manpower requirements and set up workforce planning & budgets for management to review.

ؠSource, screen, and shortlist candidates through job portals, recruitment agencies, and professional networks

ؠCoordinate interviews and ensure smooth onboarding of new hires.

2.Employee Lifecycle Management

ؠHandle onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities

ؠMaintain and update employee records and HR documentation

ؠEnsure a smooth employee experience throughout the lifecycle

3.Performance Management

ؠImplement and monitor the Performance Management System (PMS)

ؠAssist managers in goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans

ؠTrack employee performance and support performance improvement initiatives

ؠSet up PIP wherever required.

4.Training & Development

ؠIdentify training needs across manufacturing and retail teams

ؠCoordinate training programs including product knowledge, sales excellence, customer service, and leadership development

ؠCreate a detailed training plan with management to upskill employees functionally and holistically

ؠMonitor training effectiveness and employee skill development

5.Employee Engagement & Culture

ؠDevelop initiatives to improve employee engagement, motivation, and retention.

ؠOrganize engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communication initiatives

ؠFoster a positive workplace culture aligned with luxury retail brand values

ؠHandle grievances

ؠMaintain incident reports & process audits

6.HR Operations & Compliance

ؠEnsure compliance with labour laws and statutory regulations applicable to manufacturing and retail

ؠMaintain HR policies and ensure adherence across departments

ؠCoordinate with payroll, attendance, and leave management processes

7.HR Analytics & Reporting

ؠPrepare HR reports including attrition, recruitment metrics, manpower analysis, and engagement indicators

ؠProvide insights and recommendations to HR leadership

8.Retail HR Support

ؠManage HR needs for store operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance monitoring

ؠSupport retail expansion projects with manpower planning and hiring

ؠSupport event organizations and retail projects as and when required.

Key Skills & Competencies

ؠStrong understanding of HR practices in luxury retail or jewellery manufacturing

ؠExcellent recruitment and talent acquisition skills

ؠKnowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance

ؠStrong communication and interpersonal skills

ؠAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and retail teams

ؠProficiency in HRMS systems and MS Office

ؠHigh level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity

ؠStrategic thinking and a proactive attitude toward ownership.

ؠWillingness to learn and explore cross functional projects.

Educational Qualifications

ؠMBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent

ؠPreferred certification in HR analytics, labour laws, or talent management

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in luxury retail or gems & jewellery organizations

Candidates with experience in mid-size family managed companies.
