What You Will Do
The India Strategy and Business Planning Head is a pivotal leadership role at Johnson Controls, responsible for steering the strategic direction and comprehensive business planning for our operations in India. This position requires a visionary leader with a robust understanding of market dynamics, who can identify and capitalize on growth opportunities while ensuring effective budgeting and resource allocation to achieve the organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Apply strategic insight and analytical rigor to drive deep-dive market assessments and business case analyses of new, breakthrough growth opportunities and emerging/disruptive industry trends
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to discover emerging trends, customer needs, and potential barriers to entry. Utilize insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Growth Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities, including new markets, products, and partnerships. Prepare detailed business cases for strategic initiatives.
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to optimize profitability and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, operations, and finance teams to align strategies, share insights, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation throughout the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, industry partners, and government agencies, to leverage synergies and support business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to assess the success of strategic initiatives. Regularly review and report on performance against goals, adapting strategies as necessary.
What We Look For
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Strategy, or a related field. Additional certifications in project management or strategy consulting are an advantage.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy development and business planning within a multinational corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex market data and transform insights into strategic actions that drive business growth.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous.
