Job Summary:

The Inbound Manager is responsible for overseeing all inbound operations within the warehouse. This includes the efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods. You will be crucial in optimizing workflow, maintaining high standards of inventory control and safety, and leading a dedicated team to ensure seamless inbound logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inbound Operations Oversight:Manage and supervise the receipt, inspection, and unloading of all inbound shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming goods in accordance with company standards and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate effectively with suppliers and carriers to address any delivery issues and optimize shipping schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Team Leadership:Lead and manage a team of inbound warehouse staff, including assigning tasks, providing comprehensive training, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, actively promoting best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Inventory Management:Oversee the accurate placement and strategic storage of incoming goods to maximize warehouse space utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels diligently to ensure accurate stock counts and facilitate the timely replenishment of products.
  • Conduct regular, thorough inventory audits to ensure accuracy and promptly address any discrepancies.
  • Process Optimization:Develop, implement, and continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specifically for all inbound processes.
  • Identify opportunities for and implement process improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency and accuracy within inbound functions.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to drive informed operational decisions and foster continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safety and Compliance:Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies specifically related to inbound operations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and provide ongoing training for inbound staff to maintain a consistently safe working environment.
  • Address and resolve any safety or compliance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Reporting and Documentation:Maintain accurate records and comprehensive documentation for all inbound shipments, inventory levels, and staff performance.
  • Prepare and present regular, insightful reports on inbound operations, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and identified operational issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in warehouse operations with a dedicated focus on inbound processes, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of inbound logistics, inventory control principles, and proficient use of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and manage a team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant warehouse management software.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong ability to analyze data, effectively solve problems, and implement practical, effective solutions.
  • Safety Knowledge: Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices specific to warehouse management.
