About The Role

As an Associate Consultant (Japan Practice), you will support end-to-end research and consulting engagements for Japanese clients—including corporates, trading houses, government agencies, and public organizations—operating in or entering the Indian market.

You will collaborate closely with both Japanese and Indian consultants to deliver strategic and execution-focused solutions across sectors, addressing challenges such as market entry, growth strategy, financial modeling, and project implementation.

In response to the growing demand from Japanese clients, we are expanding our consulting team in India.

We seek motivated Japanese professionals eager to build a long-term consulting career in a dynamic, multicultural environment and contribute to strengthening business partnerships between Japan and India.

Key Responsibilities & Project Examples

  • Conduct research and consulting projects for Japanese clients.
  • Participate across all phases of project delivery—proposal preparation, analysis, strategy formulation, implementation, and review.
  • Perform market and industry analysis, partner identification, operational improvement studies, and valuation/financial modeling.
  • Prepare high-quality client deliverables (presentations, reports, and models) in English and Japanese.
  • Independently manage project modules and support project leaders in client and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with multicultural teams and contribute to business development and internal knowledge creation.

Sample Project Areas:


  • Market entry and growth strategy for Japanese manufacturers expanding into India.
  • JV partner scouting and M&A due diligence for trading houses.
  • Policy and regulation analysis across energy, digital, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Execution support for large-scale transformation projects (e.g., PMO setup, operational excellence).
  • Cross-border strategy assignments spanning India, Southeast Asia, and Japan.

Candidate Profile


Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (any discipline).
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency and strong command of business English (able to discuss and debate with Indian consultants and clients).
  • Motivation to work in India and pursue a long-term consulting career.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking; both quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English and Japanese.
  • Self-driven and entrepreneurial mindset.

Preferred:


  • Experience in management consulting, business strategy, or corporate planning (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, PowerPoint creation, or project management.
  • Prior work experience in a corporate environment (any sector).

Employment Details


Employment Type: Full-time employee (6-month probation period)

Work Location: India- Delhi NCR (Gurgaon)/Bangalore/Mumbai(final location to be determined with the selected candidate)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST (with flexibility as required)

Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience and skill level; annual performance bonus (once per year)
