ATHARVA FOUNDRIES PVT. LTD.is a leading producer of high-quality S.G. Iron castings, committed to excellence in production, quality, and safety. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Sand Plant Incharge to join our dynamic team and manage our state-of-the-art sand plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
The Sand Plant In charge will be responsible for the seamless and efficient operation of the entire sand preparation, mixing, and reclamation processes. Key duties include:
- Process Management: Oversee daily operations of the sand plant, including sand mixing, reclamation, and distribution to molding lines.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain correct sand quality parameters (moisture content, resin ratios, hardness, etc.) to prevent casting defects such as sand inclusion or blowholes. Conduct regular sand laboratory tests and take corrective actions as needed.
- Maintenance & Uptime: Ensure optimal performance and maximum uptime of all sand plant equipment, including mixers, bucket elevators, belt conveyors, multicoolers, and dust collectors. Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and best practices within the department. Promote a culture of safety awareness and proper PPE usage.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of operators and helpers. Plan manpower utilization to meet production targets efficiently.
- Inventory & Cost Control: Manage raw material (new sand, bentonite, resins, catalysts) inventory and control process costs.
- Reporting & Improvement: Prepare production reports, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analyze defects, and implement continuous process improvements using lean manufacturing principles.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Foundry Technology, or a related field (DME/BE).
- Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a mechanized ferrous foundry (SG Iron/Grey Iron), with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or in-charge role within a sand plant.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of sand casting processes, sand testing procedures, and high-pressure molding lines (e.g.DISA).
- Core Skills: Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage workflow under pressure and coordinate with other departments.
