Institute of Public Health Bengaluru (IPH Bengaluru) is an academic research institute driven by the need for community-driven action and with a mission to strengthen health policy and systems to ensure healthy communities through a team of committed and value-based professionals. Narasimhan School of Advanced Studies (TTN SoAS), Centre for Commercial Determinants of Health (CDOH), Centre for Health Systems (CHS), and Centre of Adivasi Health (CAH).

IPH Bengaluru has a global network of collaborations with leading national and global Universities, NGOs and academia as well as long-term learning sites/field stations as needed for participatory action and community engagement.

Job Description

About the Project:

EQUIP-HWC (Equitable, Quality Universal health coverage Implementation research Project for optimizing comprehensive primary health care through Health and Wellness Centers) is a multi-site Implementation research and a national health priority project funded by ICMR (Indian council of medical research) being conducted in Chamarajanagar district, Karnataka in collaboration with district health & family welfare department Chamarajanagar. This implementation research project focuses on developing a successful delivery model to deliver 12 comprehensive primary healthcare (CPHC) services across all health and wellness centers by emphasizing quality, equity and core values.

Job Location:

The position will be based at Chamarajanagar.

Remuneration

INR 60,000 65,000/- Per month (inclusive of statutory deductions) as per experience of the candidate and slightly negotiable for the right candidate fit as per the HR norms.

Duration

The contract will initially be for a period of one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: A recognised medical degree (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS or equivalent) along with an MPH (Master of Public Health) from an accredited Institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing & implementing public health projects is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills, including speaking and writing in Kannada and English.
  • Team building and experience in liaising with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the team.

Desirable

  • Knowledge in research methodologies, data collection techniques, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Experience in conducting in-depth interviews, facilitating focus group discussions (FGDs), transcription, and coding.
  • Experience in research writing and contributing to publications.
  • Working knowledge on analytical software SPSS/ R/ NVivo.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals, objectives, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and beneficiaries, to facilitate effective collaboration and partnership.
  • Develop and implement project work plans, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and timely achievement of milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and performance indicators, identify challenges, and propose solutions to address implementation barriers.
  • Facilitate capacity building initiatives for project staff and stakeholders to enhance their knowledge and skills in public health programming and implementation.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, documentation, and presentations for project management, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Extensive travel within Chamarajanagar and field area.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and dissemination activities, including workshops, conferences, and publications, to promote the project's impact and best practices in public health.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
