Role Overview

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented OpenPages System Administrator to oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance, monitoring, and administration of the OpenPages environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the health, security, and performance of the system while collaborating with application owners to support updates and enhancements. This role requires a strong understanding of system administration, database management, and role-based security models.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Health Assessments:

  • Conduct daily health checks of the environment during normal work hours.
  • Review and analyze logs, including database logs, syslogs, application server configurations, HTTP errors, and other solution components.
  • Verify the successful completion of backup jobs.
  • Use the Diagnostics feature in the OpenShift web client to view and analyze logs.
  • Monitor and report storage capacity and ensure sufficient free space.
  • Verify the operational status of all services, including HTTP, application servers, LDAP, and the database.

Weekly Maintenance Activities:

  • Perform database maintenance tasks and collect relevant statistics.
  • Enable and disable OpenPages System Admin Mode as required.
  • Monitor and manage the reporting schema to ensure data accuracy and performance.
  • Manage folders and files using the System Files area of IBM OpenPages.

Monthly Reviews and Maintenance:

  • Monitor server certificates and replace or configure them as needed. Import certificates into the local trust store when required.
  • Perform password change management, including updates to the Liberty Keystore, OPSystem user credentials, and data encryption keys.
  • Maintain and monitor the role-based security model, including role templates, security rules, custom security for projects, and encryption settings.
  • Add and manage property templates, document classes, security proxies, and folders.
  • Collaborate with application owners to plan and execute the deployment of application updates or enhancements into the production environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other steady-state OpenPages administration tasks as mutually agreed upon.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices for system administration and security.
  • Provide documentation and reporting on system health, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of IBM OpenPages administration and configuration.
  • Experience with database management, including maintenance and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with OpenShift web client and diagnostics tools.
  • Understanding of server certificates, trust stores, and encryption key management.
  • Proficiency in managing role-based security models and system permissions.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve system issues proactively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Experience:
  • Prior experience in system administration, particularly with IBM OpenPages
  • Experience with application server configurations, LDAP, and database systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OpenShift or similar container orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and steady-state operations.
  • Knowledge of reporting schema management and data analytics.

Work Environment: This role requires working during normal business hours to perform daily health assessments and maintenance activities. Occasional collaboration with application owners and other stakeholders may require flexibility in scheduling.
