IBM InfoSphere DataStage

Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using IBM InfoSphere DataStage to support enterprise data integration needs.

Build and enhance DataStage jobs, sequences, and reusable components aligned to best practices and project standards.

Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities.

Perform source-to-target mapping implementation and ensure accurate transformation logic across ETL processes.

Troubleshoot job failures, analyze logs, resolve data issues, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Support deployments across environments and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth releases and minimal downtime.

Create and maintain technical documentation including job design specs, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, estimate effort, and provide regular status updates on deliverables. Minimum Qualifications:

Education: BTECH, MTECH, MCA, MSC (or equivalent).

3â€5 years of experience in ETL development with strong hands-on expertise in IBM InfoSphere DataStage.

Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data transformations, and end-to-end pipeline execution.

Strong working knowledge of SQL including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and performance tuning basics.

Experience in debugging ETL jobs, handling data quality checks, and supporting production issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience optimizing DataStage jobs for performance (parallelism, partitioning, tuning stages, and efficient design patterns).

Exposure to data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling basics, and batch processing best practices.

Familiarity with scheduling/automation and operational monitoring for ETL workflows.

Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to improve standards through reusable frameworks, documentation, and proactive reliability enhancements.
