IBM InfoSphere DataStage

Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using IBM InfoSphere DataStage to support enterprise data integration needs.

Build and optimize DataStage jobs (sequences, parallel jobs) with a focus on performance, scalability, and reusability.

Write and tune SQL queries to support extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities.

Perform data profiling, data quality checks, and end-to-end validation to ensure accurate and consistent outputs.

Troubleshoot job failures, analyze logs, resolve production issues, and implement preventive fixes to improve stability.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical ETL specifications.

Maintain technical documentation for job design, mappings, dependencies, and operational runbooks.

Additional Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Computer Science/IT (BTech/BE/BSc or equivalent).

2-3 years of hands-on experience in IBM InfoSphere DataStage development and support.

Strong working knowledge of ETL concepts, data warehousing fundamentals, and relational databases.

Proficiency in SQL for querying, transformations, and performance tuning.

Experience in debugging ETL workflows and supporting production deployments with attention to reliability and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with DataStage parallel framework concepts, partitioning strategies, and performance optimization techniques.

Familiarity with job scheduling, dependency management, and operational monitoring for ETL pipelines.

Exposure to data reconciliation approaches, audit controls, and handling incremental/CDC-style loads.

Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, communicate technical findings clearly, and contribute to delivery timelines.

Experience working with version control and structured release processes for ETL artifacts. Good to have skills: Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, IBM DB2, Oracle, Informatica PowerCenter
