Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) with 810 years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and supporting DB2 databases, along with exposure to Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server (on-premises and Azure environments preferred). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database performance tuning, high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, and scripting for automation, as well as the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior DBAs.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Administration: Manage and support DB2 databases across development, testing, and production environments.
• Cross-Platform Support (Preferred): Provide support for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server databases.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and efficient resource allocation.
• Backup and Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage HA/DR tools such as DB2 HADR (must-have), Oracle Data Guard, and MS SQL Server Always On.
• Security Management: Enforce database security practices, manage user roles, access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (Shell, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks including backups, patching, and monitoring.
• Upgrades & Migrations: Lead database version upgrades, patching, and platform migrations across supported systems.
• Database Design: Create and maintain database objects including schemas, tables, procedures, and views ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve complex database incidents including performance issues, corruption, and outages.
• Capacity Planning: Perform data sizing and scalability assessments to meet future data growth.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver robust database solutions.
  
  

Key Skills & Requirements

• Must-Have:
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 database administration
• Expertise in DB2 HADR for high availability and disaster recovery
• Minimum 4 years of relevant DBA experience
• Good-to-Have (Preferred):
• Exposure to Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server
• Experience with Azure cloud and on-premise environments
• Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard and SQL Server Always On
