Job Summary
The IBDP Chemistry Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in Chemistry within the IB Diploma Programme. The role involves planning and delivering inquiry-based lessons, conducting laboratory experiments, and preparing students for internal and external IB assessments while promoting scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Teach IBDP Chemistry to Grades 11 and 12 (SL & HL levels).
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB curriculum standards.
- Prepare students for Internal Assessments (IA) and External Examinations.
- Develop lesson plans, unit plans, and teaching resources.
- Use differentiated instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Conduct safe and effective laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
- Guide students in Practical Work and Internal Assessment (IA) investigations.
- Ensure laboratory safety standards and procedures are followed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and materials.
- Support students in data collection, analysis, and scientific reporting.
Assessment Responsibilities
- Design and grade assessments as per IB standards.
- Maintain student records, portfolios, and progress reports.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement.
- Monitor student performance and provide academic support where needed.
General Responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum planning and IB training workshops.
- Collaborate with faculty and DP Coordinator for academic planning.
- Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, and professional development sessions.
- Support school events, exhibitions, and science-related activities.
- Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's Degree in Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years teaching experience, preferably in senior secondary grades.
- Experience in IBDP Chemistry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
