Primary Job Title: Head of Physical Education (IB PYP/MYP/DP)
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an inquiry-led, age-appropriate IB-aligned PE curriculum across PYP, MYP and DP, ensuring vertical articulation and coherence.
- Manage and mentor the PE faculty: set instructional standards, run observations, deliver targeted professional development and support reflective practice.
- Design and implement assessment frameworks and reporting aligned to IB criteria; use data to drive student progress and programme improvement.
- Oversee co-curricular and competitive sports programmes, scheduling inter-school events, talent pathways and inclusive participation opportunities.
- Ensure student safety and wellbeing: conduct risk assessments, maintain equipment and facilities standards, and implement safeguarding procedures.
- Manage departmental resources and budgets, coordinate equipment procurement and liaise with senior leadership on strategic planning for physical education and wellness initiatives.
