Job Summary
The
IB DP French Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching of
IB Diploma Programme French (French B and/or French Ab Initio) in alignment with the standards of the
International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). The facilitator will develop students language proficiency, intercultural understanding, and communication skills while preparing them for IB internal and external assessments.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Teach IB DP French (French B / French Ab Initio) as per IB curriculum guidelines.
- Develop engaging lesson plans to enhance reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
- Use communicative and inquiry-based teaching strategies.
- Encourage students to develop intercultural awareness and global perspectives.
- Integrate authentic French texts, audio, and visual materials into lessons.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB criteria.
- Prepare students for IB internal and external examinations.
- Assess students oral and written communication skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to support language development.
- Maintain accurate academic records and progress reports.
Curriculum & Planning
- Develop unit plans aligned with IB French syllabus requirements.
- Collaborate with IB language teachers for curriculum planning.
- Maintain documentation required for IB programme standards.
- Stay updated with IB French curriculum changes and assessment guidelines.
Student Support
- Support students in developing confidence in French communication.
- Guide students in preparing for Individual Oral (IO) assessments.
- Encourage participation in language enrichment activities such as cultural events, debates, and presentations.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend IB workshops and professional development programs.
- Participate in staff meetings, school activities, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Follow school policies and IB programme standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in French Language / French Literature (Mandatory).
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (Preferred).
- IB DP French teaching experience or certification (Preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching French in IB DP / IGCSE / International Curriculum.

- Strong proficiency in spoken and written French.
- Knowledge of IB Language Acquisition curriculum.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to assess oral and written language proficiency.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to create engaging and culturally rich learning experiences.
Preferred Experience
- Experience conducting Individual Oral (IO) assessments.
- Experience teaching French B and/or French Ab Initio.
- Exposure to international curricula such as IB or Cambridge (IGCSE French).
