Your impact
The candidate will have below mentioned roles and responsibilities working on multiple projects for UK, ME and/or ANZ clients / lead offices.
Main Role Responsibilities
- Working on various river flood modelling projects and studies in line with client requirement.
- Integrated Hydraulic modelling 1D-2D model build / updates
- Calibration, validation, impact and mitigation assessment, flood mapping, etc.
- Hydrological modelling
- Internal / external project discussions / meetings and presentations.
- Report writing and co-ordination with the lead office or client,
- Resolving technical modelling issues on projects by coordinating with senior engineers and lead business.
- Liaison with lead business and other team members to produce good modelling solution as per best practice
- Working in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall project.
- Maintain high work standards, minimise production errors and attention to detail
- Supporting / Training Graduate Engineers on various 1D-2D flood modelling projects in line with client requirement and checking of their work.
- Assisting and participating in developing yourself and other team members to their full potential
- Building a profile in the industry and keeping up-to-date with innovations and developments.
Here's what you'll need
Essential
- B.E in Civil Engineering and MS/M.Tech in Water Resources / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University
- 1 to 6 yrs of hands-on experience in working with integrated 1D-2D flood modelling projects including storm drainage network.
- Experience on modelling tools such as Tuflow-Estry, Flood Modeller Pro, Infoworks ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.
- Experience on GIS tools such as Qgis, ArcGIS, MapInfo, etc.
- Sound technical knowledge and understanding of pluvial, fluvial, and coastal/tidal hydraulic modelling
- Knowledge on hydrology calculations / models and practices related to UK, ME and/or ANZ
- Candidate must have a good command of English (written and spoken) as you will be required to speak and communicate with colleagues in the UK, ME and / or ANZ.
- Good report writing, well-developed interpersonal skills and working in team are seen as essential attributes.
Desirable
- Experience with hydrology calculations / models and practices related to UK, ME and/or ANZ will be an added advantage.
- Working towards Chartership or recently Chartered will be advantage.
- Project / Team Lead role or management will be advantage.
Flexible to adopt new work /challenge work as per business requirement.
