Key Responsibilities of the HVAC Technician:
- Supports the smooth running of the Engineering department, ensuring all HVAC systems are maintained to the highest standards
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and heating systems
- Diagnoses faults and carries out timely repairs to minimize downtime
- Responds promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests, ensuring comfort and satisfaction
- Ensures all work is carried out safely and in compliance with statutory regulations and company standards
- Monitors energy efficiency and supports sustainability initiatives within the hotel
- Maintains proper documentation of maintenance activities for audits and compliance purposes
- Collaborates with team members to control costs, manage inventory, and achieve departmental targets
- Builds effective working relationships while promoting company culture and values
Requirements of the HVAC Technician:
- Relevant technical qualification/certification in HVAC or Refrigeration
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance (hotel or commercial experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and heating systems
- Hands-on approach with a can-do work style
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide effective solutions
- Experience working with maintenance reporting systems and basic IT platforms
- Strong communication skills
- Personal integrity with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
