ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented HVAC Estimation Engineer who will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and techno-commercial inputs for HVAC projects during the pre-sales stage.

This role plays a critical part in winning projects by ensuring competitive yet profitable pricing, while supporting the sales team with strong technical and commercial insights.

You will work closely with design and sales teams to translate project requirements into accurate cost structures and proposals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation (MOST CRITICAL)

Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC projects including:

- Equipment (VRV/VRF, AHU, Chillers)

- Ducting and piping

- Accessories and controls

- Labour and installation costs

Develop:

- BOQs (Bill of Quantities)

- Cost sheets

- Rate analysis

2) Tender Analysis

Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications

Understand project scope, technical requirements, and exclusions

Identify:

- Scope gaps

- Risk areas

- Cost implications

3) Quantity Take-Off

Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings

Ensure correct quantification of:

- Ducting

- Piping

- Equipment

- Insulation and accessories

4) Proposal & Pricing Support

Support sales team in preparing techno-commercial proposals

Ensure:

- Competitive pricing

- Profitability

- Compliance with client requirements

5) Vendor Coordination & Cost Inputs

Obtain quotations from vendors and suppliers

Perform comparative analysis and finalize cost inputs

Ensure:

- Best pricing

- Reliable vendors

6) Value Engineering

Suggest cost-effective alternatives in:

- Design

- Materials

- System selection

Without compromising quality or performance

7) Coordination with Internal Teams

Work closely with:

- Sales team

- Design team

- Procurement team

Ensure alignment in costing and technical approach

8) Documentation & Records

Maintain all estimation-related documents:

- BOQs

- Cost sheets

- Vendor quotes

- Tender submissions

9) Cost Benchmarking & Market Analysis

Track market rates for materials and labour

Maintain updated cost database for future projects

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• 3–7 years of experience in HVAC estimation

• Strong hands-on experience in:

- BOQ preparation

- Cost estimation

- Quantity take-off

• Good understanding of HVAC systems:

- VRV/VRF

- AHU

- Chillers

- Ventilation systems

• Proficiency in:

- Excel (advanced level for costing)

- AutoCAD (for quantity understanding)

• Experience in tendering and proposal preparation

• Strong analytical and numerical skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy
